Where In the World is Moline?

Even though I grew up on a farm and had driven a John Deere tractor since I was a teenager, I had never heard of the town of Moline, Illinois.  When I googled the place, I learned that it’s a small city of less that 50 thousand residents but part of a larger metropolitan area called the Quad Cities made up of Moline, Davenport, Bettendorf, and Rock Island with a total population of over 350,000 people. World Headquarters for John Deere seemed to be the primary claim to fame of this town, nestled along Interstate 80, about a 2.5 hour drive west of Chicago. Why so much interest in this relatively unknown location?

Last weekend (Feb 20-22), thousands of  business owners and entrepreneurs descended on Moline and the Metropolitan Quad Cities to attend the 2015 Winter Leadership Conference organized by LIFE Leadership. And what an unforgettable weekend it was! You can read all about the crowdimpact of this event to the local area here . The iWireless Center in Moline was packed to capacity as recognized leaders from across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean took the stage to teach about leadership, personal finances, relationships, business development, and success principles.  We also had the privilege of hearing 5 guest speakers share their passion with the enthusiastic crowd.  Many thanks to the organizers for including this in the jam-packed schedule.  guestspeakersThese leaders were so fantastic, I could write an article on each one separately!  One particularly impactful speaker, Steve Scheibner, shared his incredible story.  To learn more, check out the YouTube video In My Seat.

Many also gathered to celebrate achievements and victories with their friends, families and business partners. A highlight of the weekend and tremendous example of the leadership and integrity within the LIFE Leadership organization was the celebration of hamiltonsClaude & Lana Hamilton who were recognized for their achievement as Executive LIFE Coaches. You can learn more about the Hamiltons who are co-Founders of LIFE Leadership by following Claude Hamiltons Leadership blog.

The value of association and life changing information cannot be understated. As CEO Chris Brady shared with the local media, this information “can help people live the life they’ve always wanted to live.”   Are you living the life you’ve always wanted? If not, maybe it’s time to get better information that can equip you to have fun, make money and make a difference in your own life as well as the lives of others.

Where in the world is Moline? It’s at the intersection where your dreams meet your commitment, just outside the State line of your comfort zone. I encourage you to find your Moline and create a plan to attend the next LIFE Leadership Conference, wherever it is!

Great article John. The real question is – which is farther away? Your dreams – or Moline. Chances are – Moline was the path to get people closer to the life they’ve always wanted to live! Thanks for always leading and serving the overall team.
